  1. I have several family members and coworkers who own or have owned cavaliers, and never had any problems. Natalia post comparing a 5year old chevy to a 25 year old toyota and a 35 year old honda is comical! First I dont see any Hondas from 1973 on the road so how is the comparison valid? Second My brother has a 1970 chevy chevelle, so going by the numbers it would be like owning 190year old honda. Wow thats amazing. I didnt know they made hondas in 1818. Oh Natalia your post always seem to make me laugh. Yes if you like the car buy it. My buddy sold his 2000 cavalier with 212,000 miles! Still original motor, tranny and even exhaust.

  2. If you like the car and you can afford it, go for it.

  3. Do yourself a big favor and read some of the previous posts in this group.  Count how many Cavalier horror stories there are and ask yourself this question.  Do I want to join them in their mistakes?  I'll let you decide for yourself.

  4. Yep. I had an '89 Cav. Sorry, no horror stories.

  5. i would run a carfax to see if it has a clear title and take it to a mechanic to see if its a goodbuy

  6. Personally I would have them drop the price to 4,000 or 4,500 Tax on that car is about $120 (depending on state it may vary) Plates and title is lets say $200 if you don't have your own plates If you do your looking at about $120.

I just bought a 2002 with 40,000 for $3,000 plus the $90 in sales tax and $120 transfer of plates and title. It had 1 previous owner and runs GREAT.

  7. yep! wish we had them in australia :(

  8. AutoOnInfo.net's detailed reliability and durability studies suggest that a typical 5-year-old Chevrolet is as troublesome to own as a typical 25-year-old Toyota and a typical 35-year-old Honda. However, the 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier is some above the Chevrolet average.
