  1. nooooo please dont buy one they are bloody awful, parts are difficult to get and are expensive, look at a ford fiesta or vauxhall corsa if a small reliable car is required

    hope i helped

  2. Do be aware that the linkage between the gear lever and the gearbox on a Matiz is a a pair of cables, unlike most cars which use steel rods.

These cables are prone to breaking, leaving you unable to change gear.

  3. i have a daewoo matiz. ive not had no problems with mine as yet only a little mold has started growin in the footwell on the passengers side. think there must be a little leak somewhere. ova than that its great.they r real cute but they dont have much space in the boot for all ya shopping...ideal for takin the kids to school until they get teenagers like mine then the car becomes a real embarrassment to them..my kids call my car a shopping basket cos wot will fit in the boot is wot u fit in a shoppin basket.lol. i had to invest in an convertable just for my kids street cred as they say...

  4. maybe other cars like integra or toyota corola or chevy cobolt, look around you may find some that interest you! GOOD LUCK!

  5. No, don't do it. Two of my friends have bought one of these cars and they have both had trouble with them. They also featured in 'What Car's' top ten cars not to buy.

  6. one good palce to look for cars is on www.Autotrader.com  They have some good cars on that site youi can look for then call the owner if you like...Thats how I found my car...Check it out...

  7. no dont do it poor build quality appaling safety those things are death traps.just a quick comparison on the euro ncap site have a look at the figures for say a matiz and a corsa

hope this helps you to decide

  8. My best friend has one, I've driven in a few times, and actually I prefer that to my Toyota Yaris.

( I don't know if you know, but Toyota's are supposedly the best car maker out there - along side Honda, so its saying something! )

Although they are cheap, they will be fine for school runs.

They aren't made for motorways ( tried it and I think I annoyed other drivers! )

They also aren't made to clock up 100,000+ miles. So to be on the safe side, don't buy one that has any more than around 75,000 miles.

For the right price, they are worth it - depending on the year and price.

  9. I bought one that was 18 months old to use to commute to work and for it's size I was quite surprised by it's abilities. The only drawbacks I found in the two years I had it were the plonkers who underrated it and tried to overtake as soon as they pass the national speed limit sign at the end of a built up area. They seemed to think because you drove at 30mph in the town you wouldn't get faster out of it. I used to enjoy accelerating away and leaving them sitting on the wrong side of the road. I know you shouldn't do it, but judging a book by it's cover is also wrong.

Eventually it got wearing though and I got something different when it came time for a trade in.

A good small car though with low running costs -  more than adequate for most "about town" needs if folk were honest with themselves.

  10. im sure this was the car of the year in 2001 or something so cant be that bad...but i must say the parts are a bloody nightmare to get hold of.....but then again rarely fail.....maybe i need a new car??

  11. Wife had one (until someone ploughed into the side of it and wrote it off). It was a great little car! Never went wrong, great to drive... Go for it!
