  1. I just bought a Vulcan 500 for my first bike and I absolutely LOVE and RECOMMEND it highly to anyone just starting out.  As a woman, the bike is not heavy, can acclerate quickly and keep up with husband's sport bike with no problem.  Good luck on the decision, I know how hard it can be! I wasn't sure what I wanted but knew the minute I sat on my Vulcan that this was the bike for me. This is one comfortable bike, I'll be sad when I feel it's time to move on.....

  2. honda

  3. Those are two excellent motorcycles.  I have a VLX and know someone who bought a Vulcan 500 as a first bike.

All I can tell you is that I've had several Honda motorcycles and have got great service out of them.  I'd suggest the Honda on that basis.  I also like the styling better.

  4. the honda is a vtwin, the kawi is a parallel twin, a vtwin has nicer style and better low rpm torque.  the parellel twin has better midrange power, so it's going to depend on how you plan to ride... if it's mostly around town... go honda, if it's mostly highway, go kawi

  5. I'd say Honda for the reliability but I believe the Kawi is a 6 speed and gets excellent gas mileage. Get the one you can get the best deal on.

  6. My niece has the VLX. The only thing I don't care for (besides the pink paint job) is that it's a 4-speed.
