All the reviews say that they are awesome bikes and very fast but i have heard that they are unreliable.

Is this true?

  1. I'll never buy another bike.

  2. from what ive seen of them they are good. the only thing that lets them down is the suspension (people still dont like the feel and look of the suspension direct link onto the swingarm) and of course the price. but its personal opinion mostly

  3. Like Elliot said, KTM makes an awesome mini class machine, definitely a 10. I recently bought an 85SX for my nephew but I ride it a lot myself. I have not experienced any reliability issues at all with KTM and I've raced them on and off since the late 80's. They make a quality bike for sure, and are known for having incredibly strong engines. The only real downside for motocross is their suspension. It is not bad, but lacking a little behind the Japanese models. The suspension does however work great in the woods. You can dial in KTM suspension to work very well for motocross but it does take more setting changes than with most Japanese bikes. A little harder to dial in. If I werer you I wouldn't hesitate for one minute to buy a KTM. One of my favorite bikes for sure.

  4. im assuming you are talking about the motocross bikes, if not, add more details.

I have had 2 KTM's an 2007 85sx and a 2008 250SX, I have found the under 125cc bike that ktm make (not including 125) are excellent, the engine blew on the 85sx, but it was my fault....

Anyway, the 50, 65 and 85sx are great, would not reccomend them more for 2stroke mini bikes.

4 strokes such as the 250SX-F and the 450SX-F have excellent power but have had problems, if you want a Four stroke, go for a CRF (honda).

Larger 2 strokes such as 125sx 150sx and 250sx are very fast and light, have awesome brakes and great clutch but they need to refine the clutch and also the 125sx engine needs re-thinking, they are not good for reliability.

    mini 2T's 9/10

    4 stroke 6.5/10

    125SX 6/10

    250SX 8/10

    have fun
