Should i buy a new battery for my 30gb ipod video?

I have a 30gb ipod video obviously and when I charge it up to full it only lasts about 3 to 4 hours. I have even charged it up for 24 hours before but it still dosent last long. It also has never told me when it is fully charged so i just unplug it when it says do not disconnect.

Do you watch videos on the ipod? If you do the video drains the battery ....
