Should i buy a new ipod b/c itunes won't pull up? read for deets..

okay, i asked a question earlier on my itunes not comming up b/c it was unplugged while synching.

i have the first generation shuffle (1GB) and everything i've read or tried hasn't worked yet. (duh on the trying thing.)

but now, i'm thinking on buying a new ipod anyways, hoping to start fresh.... is it the best thing to do?
