  1. LCD's are the best value.

Plasma TV's lose 50% of their brightness in the first 5 years.

Projection TV has an annoyingly small viewing angle and may require a periodic bulb change.

  2. Cost is cheapest for LCD

and LCD is superior unless you pay about 100,000 grand for a professional projector. and if you can afford it, get 1080p.

I know you can get a new sony bravia 40 inch 1080p lcd for $1200

    btw go with sony

  3. LCD

    The image quality is good

The prices are always lower than competitors.

Projectors don't have really good image quality.

They last longer than plasmas too.

You don't have to buy the Sony's, you can get an LG or Samsung, they are not as crisp as the Sony ones, but the picture quality is still great at 1080p, and at the price point.

  4. It really depends on your situation.

    DLP

    Pros-

    1) Lots of screen space for your dollar

    Cons-

    1) Must replace the bulb (between 250 and 300 dollars) periodically

    2) Almost impossible to watch tv anywhere but right in front of the television.

    3) Display is not a bright and vibrant as a Plasma or an LCD.

    4) Cannot be wall mounted.

    Plasma

    Pros-

    1) Deep rich colors

    2) 480 Hz processing on newer models makes fast moving images such as sports and action movies flow very smoothly. This is 4 times faster than the best lcd.

    3) panel life of about 60000 hours.  (The guy that said the plasma would need gas has no idea what he is talking about.  That gas refill is a complete myth created by LCD FANBOYS.)

    4) Can be wall-mounted.

    Cons-

    1) Some older model plasmas were prone to burn in and image retention. Due to updates in technology such as pixel orbiters and screen wipes this is not as big of an issue as it used to be.

    2) Glass Panel can create significant glare in a room with a lot of light.

    LCD

    Pros-

    1) Virtually no glare issues

    2) Displays are very bright

    3) Do not suffer from burn in.

    4) Can be wall mounted

    5) 60000 hour panel life

    Cons-

    1) Slower processing than plasma (120 hz on higher end models)

    2) Are more expensive at larger sizes than plasma

    3) poor black levels (black will often look more gray than black.)

  5. plasma will ned gas put into it after a few years

  6. plasma

  7. No ...wait till next year...something new will be out.

  8. LCD plasma could break.

  9. Plasma LCD............the pic is way better and clearer than a projection . No comparison between the two. If you are going to invest that much money, get the most bang for your buck.
