  1. AUS $300.00 for a projector? Forget about it Phil as most likely you'll be spending another $300.00 for the replacement bulbs and cables for the used unit you'll be buying at e- bay.

Find your self a good unit of LCD TV and enjoy years of reliable usage.

  2. as long as your wall is pure white.

Anyway, I personally would buy the LCD TV since it's a bedroom and not the conference hall of the new McDonald's in Kuwait.

Well, you know what I mean, it's a room of personal use and not a place where the public listens to you.

And as you save more, you buy the cheap 7.1 (or 5.1 or 6.1) Surround Sound to be used for your computer (if you have in your bed room) or if you want to use the lcd for movies and 'you-know-what's, etc.

As i said, its for personal use, so don't let my opinion destroy yours. It's your room, your money, your 'legitimate' freedom.

    >>>>>BTW, 300 bucks, i dont think you can buy an LCD with that, but im sure you know what you're talking about.

  3. You should be able to get a 20" LCD TV in your price range - that's what I would go for. Even if you could find a used projector off eBay in your price range, as Jun R said, the bulbs for those things can cost $300 alone. And though you can project successfully on a white wall, you'll get a better picture with a purpose built screen. Not to mention that you'll have to keep the room pretty dark. You'll also find that inexpensive projectors most likely will have a 640x480 resolution (so not HD), while an inexpensive 20" LCD TV will give you HD output (assuming you have HD sources, of course).

  4. Check out goosystems.com for affordable movie screen paints for your walls.  Pass on standard screens since walls offer the largest screen image.

    Good luck!

  5. $300 is not enough to buy a TV or a projector. I suggest you get a normal CRT TV (tube TV).

  6. mate save up a bit more

atleast a grand to get something decent

  7. hey, you only got $300??? that's not enough..

hmm.. with your 300, i think you can buy a portable dvd player at  least. haha.

but if you've got enough money, i say, just buy an lcd tv for your room. i dont think you'll be needing a projector for a bedroom, haha. and if you do buy a projector, you've got to buy a nice sound system too.

if you buy lcd tv, they offer a package like, "home theatre system". you'll be getting dvd players, and speakers along with the tv itself.

    good luck on bidding! haha.

  8. mate, for $300 you definately wont get a projector but you might get a 2 inch LCD tv lol
