Should i buy a used ibook for 400?

i've never even heard of an ibook before, thought its obvious its a mac, so idk, you think its worth it? or are they even good laptops to begin with

That would depend on how old is it and the specs although i would say that you would be better off getting a slightly newer MacBook as the last iBook was released from Apple in July 2005

Specs were

CPU: PowerPC 7447a

CPU Speed: 1.33/1.42 GHz

FPU: integrated

Bus Speed: 133/142 MHz

Maximum RAM: 1.5 GB

It will only run up to OS X 10.4

The iBook is the Mac laptop that preceeds the Intel MacBook
