  1. Mustang all the way.. oh and I don't get why people say it won't make it past 50,000 miles... umm, excuse me, mine is at 134,000 and I drive it like I stole it every day. I also maintain it properly. Take care of it, and it'll last. Mine runs perfectly. Fords are just as good as any other car, and better than some.

  2. I own a mustang, its an 03, bought it brand new.  It has been a good solid car, I make sure to keep up on oil changes and other required maintenance.  In fact I have not had one of my three previous fords not go past 200k miles.  So to guy that says "you'll be lucky if it goes past 50k"....you're full of horse poo....  And as far as imports go, mitsu's pretty much suck....

  3. Well, I've driven and worked on both, and they both have their good points and bad points.  Both companies make an excellent engine--powerful and reliable.  I regard neither as good cars for a teenager however.  For different reasons, both are rather squirrely in turns and on wet roads, and as teens tend to have little driving experience and a tendency to hot-rod a bit when conditions are not really good for that, accidents may ensue.

  4. A Mustang by far, Mitsubishi is a terrible car company, especially an Eclipse, and those high performance Eclipses you see Fast and The Furious, are nothing what so ever what a real eclipse is like. A Mustang,no matter what model, has at least decent performance and handling, as well as being RWD. An Eclipse, has no decent performance without aftermarket ugrades and even then you would still be repairing it every month.

  5. buy a nissant altima coupe. IT is much better than those two. or a honda civic. TRUST ME.

  6. mitsubishi doesnt have a good name and the blook book value drops quick on them. mustang is a little hard to handle around curves but hey if you can drive well then you got it.

  7. The Mustang will hold it's trade in value better. Before you get a good trade in on your Mitsubishi you will have to trade back to a Mitsubishi dealer. a Mustang holds it's value no matter where you trade it.

Be sure and check the difference in insurance too. I wouldn't doubt that the insurance is cheaper on the Mustang since insurance seems to run higher on the smaller faster cars. The mustang is more than likely a safer car which will lower your insurance..

If you don't mind these differences then go with what you like. It's your money. Yes, the Mitsubishi will probably get the best gas mileage although Ford has done a lot with the Mustang for 09.

  8. I have an eclipse [It's an old '99 though], and I absolutely love it. I get a full tank for only about 45-50 dollars, and that can take me in and out of town every day for more than a week before I have to refill it. From what I hear, mustangs and fords in general tend to suck, but I wouldn't know for sure. I'm more than happy with my eclipse, and I think they're the most attractive cars EVER. But that's just my opinion. =]

  9. i would go with the mitsubishe there better on gas but still have the sport car look.

  10. if it is for a teenager, i say neither. get 'em an accord or something. let them show that they can take care of a car before you get one of those.

  11. mustang is going to give you a way better performance. and eclipse is a bad company and mustangs is a definite mans car. ladies love them. check out this youtube video this should say it all...

  12. Definitely the Mustang. Mitsubishi doesn't have the best reliability and looks like a tree hugger. Oh, and last time I checked Ford is equal to Toyota in reliability and the Mustang is the most reliable vehicle in its class.

  13. I would go with a Mitsubishi Eclipse, it will outperform the ford in performance and handling and they look cool, it will hold its value better then a ford and mitsubishi is very good, i dont get where people think they are bad, according to motor trend, mitsubishi is ranked up there with honda and subaru and toyota. O and ford's reliability is not good at all, you would be lucky if a mustang made it past 50,000 miles. But man i would take the eclipse and if you do get it make sure you get the Rockford fosgate audio system they offer for it. If you really wanted to get a fast car get the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution but they are much more expensive

  14. You should buy the Ford Mustang. It has more power and is American made!
