Even if you have to make him practice in the garage or basement to keep your sanity... but always do what you can to bring music into the lives of children. Don't force him to practice, don't get upset if the guitar just sits for a while, if he is passionate about it he'll do it.

You can find used guitars all over. Check for a local resale shop or music store.

definitely!  I have been playing guitar since I was around 12, and I wish I could have started sooner.  music will help your kid focus more and hopefully spawn some awesome creativity in his life.  do it!

yes you should, it shows that she has love for music and art and hey you never know that might be the best thing you ever did, she could be a successful singer one day. Music always smooths your soul, and it will keep her out of trouble like alot of kids these days. If I where you I would differently do it. My husband had one to and today he is 33 years old and he plays the quitar like no other and he sing's so wonderful. Go for it.

most def! musical abilities can help build math skills.  it helps to start them young.  of course if your kid doesn't want a guitar it's not a good idea but maybe have them check out other instruments at a music store but then i'd see if a local pawn shop or 2nd hand place has something a little less expensive.
