  1. go for the 80 gb.

  2. 80! fo sho

  3. 60GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

The 60gb can play 99% of PS2 games,

The 80gb can only play 80% of ps2 games,

    Memory can be upgraded,

  4. Well the 60GB is the obvious choice (not considering warranty)

remember hard drive space can always be upgraded on any PS3

60GB PS3 can do everything that 80GB can plus...

-memory card readers (compact flash, SD and sony memory stick)

-four USB ports instead of two

    -play ps2 games

    -SACD compatible (Super Audio CD)

but I think the latest 80GB has a slightly smaller power consumption.

(This comparison is based on the original 60GB(out of production) with the latest 80GB(still in production), if you are talking about the old 80GB PS3 then it is identical with the 60GB plus 20GB extra hard drive space

  5. If you mean the 80gb with B/C(Play PS2 games) then go ahead! But if it isn't then go with the 60gb and you can always change it for a 320gb(Which the highest trust me) for 50 dollars.  The PS3 is compatible with just about any 2.5-inch SATA notebook harddisk. The physical size of the harddisk is important because it has to fit the PS3's 2.5-inch drive tray. Biggest one is 320gb so go ahead and buy it. Just make sure if it is the 80gb with B/C then get it then! if it isn't go with the 60gb and upgrade.

  6. u sud buy the 20gb because its the same as 60gb , and 40gb is the same as 80gb , the 20gb and 60gb have extras , 2 more usb , mem card slots , so buy a 20gb and buy a hhd of e.g 100gb for £40 so it works out cheaper!!!!!

  7. get the 80gb. the 60gb doesnt come with a game and the 80gb comes will etal gear solid 4. plus, a warrantee is always good to have

  8. If it's NTSC 60GB - it's the best, it plays almost 100% of PS2 games and has all possible PS3 features (card reader, 4 USBs), old 80GB plays less PS2 games ~70% (all other possible features). PAL 60GB  plays around 70% of PS2 games too, has all other possible features.

  9. Go for the 80gb.  Bigger is better, especially if the price difference is negligable.

In my experience even one downloaded demo is generally over Gigabyte in size, so deleting stuff regularly will soon become important no matter what size drive you end up getting.

I don't think there are any significant differences in the two machines (60 or 80 gb) otherwise to affect this calculation, unlike the former 40gb version that (compared with the previous 60gb version) had its PS2 and SACD compatibility dissected out of it like some sort of computer equivalent of a vasectomy.
