  1. One of the ways that you can contact a prospective employer without seeming pushy is by buying Business thank you cards which are empty on the inside and writing a short note thanking them for the interview.

You can also make a reference to your strengths that you mentioned during the interview in the card. Something like this:

    Dear Ms. Walker,

Thank you for the opportunity to speak with you during our meeting on January 23rd. It was an honor to meet you and I look forward to the opportunity to join Acme Foods in their bid to build a productive marketplace.

Working with your team would be a wonderful opportunity to be able to put my problem solving and task management skills to use. I look forward to hearing from you in the next week.

    Sincerely,

    Max Time

This type of note gives you the opportunity to contact the employer, remind them of your strengths and let them know that you were also listening to them during the interview. Calling is allowed of course but by sending this thank you note you up your chances to keep your name in the front of the employers mind.

Most interviewees never send a thank you note and so blend in; make a good impression! When you call just tell the secretary that you interviewed with Mr. or Mrs. so and so on such and such a date and you were wondering if a decision had been made regarding your employment. It's perfectly okay to call and inquire as employers understand that you are anxious to know whether to continue on with your job search or not.

  2. i wouldn't call back right away like that.  but the whole never call them is not true.

many people send in resumes, wait to hear from them, and never do.  then they call the prospective employer, politely reminding them, and get the job.

so i would wait a week at the most and give them a call, just to check on progress.

  3. Never, never, call a prospective employer.  If they are interested inyou they would have called, or may still call.  They may be interviewing other candidates.
