  1. no you shouldnt.  that kills benificial bacteria and the betta can also breathe air.  dont change water, add it.  when the water gets very low, add more water.

  2. you will make it worse by killing all the good bacteria

maby your tank is too small

  3. NOO 50% was to much and started over the cycling process most likely, you should only change 25% of the water at a time. Get a filter if the water is yucky.

  4. hey i know some people dont agree with this, but i do a huge cleaning every month pretty much, or every couple of weeks, but my bettas are in filtered tanks, so i put them in a small bowl with their old aquarium water, and then clean theirs totaly by getting a strainer for all the gravel and use hot water to go over them and wash and rinse them, (no soap haha), and then i clean everythg and put it all back in place with the right temerature of water, and then let it sit for maybe 45 mins to an hour so that the water is able to aclimate to the roomm, and then introduce your bettas....its an easy way to do it, and ive had my same bettas for years and they are alll alive and well. in your case, if your water is filthy, change it! haha, i mean u should get a filter though, its not very expenisve to get a couple gallon tank kit for them, and it makes all the difference when it comes to cleaning and giving them a better living environment, good luck with it...

  5. I am assuming you have him in a bowl.

The water will never be clean in such a small environment. Try looking for a 5 gallon tank with a filter and heater. You will be rewarded with less clean up and a more active and happy betta.

  6. ALWAYS LEAVE 25% OF OLD WATER IN THE TANK!

  7. Definitely no. If you find your water is murky, try getting a filter. They're quite cheap. They're around $10 at the most for a smaller one.

Try not to overfeed your betta. I'd probably only do 20% water changes every day/two days

    *using RO/DI water
