Should i change from sealed to ported box need advice

ok i have 2 JL12w1 at 8 ohms each now in a sealed boxed the new jl grey look. hook to a 550.2 rockford fosgate amp bridged and now are at 4ohms if i was to put these in a ported box would it make a big difference they hit like a muther f er now so now i need honest answers ive never owned a ported box should i buy or keep my sealed box

  1. As long as you go with the right ported enclosure it is going to make quite a bit of difference, even with entry level ( low power) subs

    Audio Enhancers makes an enclosure specifically for the W1 it is tuned around 37 hz , you won't believe that your W1 could ever sound so good.


  2. if you want friggin harder hits put it in a huge ported box i have two kicker comp tens in a ported box and the blow my friends out of the water ( he has the same subs in a sealed box...) trust me it will make a difference it popped open my gas tank and made my mirror fall

  3. i only really recommend getting a ported box when your pushing over like 600 watts rms. like if your had the W3's i would say yes but the W1's your getting all the power your going to get. and you would actually get more to if you had a JL amp for the subs, JL works the best and to maximum performance with there own products just as most companies but JL even more so.
