Should i change my surname?

I have a surname that sounds VERY close to "d*** l**k". I got teased all throughout my life, and continue to get teased at uni by some friends who think it's only a small joke.

But then again I might get teased by my conservative friends about "not accepting my roots" and so on.

Dilema...

  1. you should change it...

  2. My best friend for most of my life has been an honorable and loyal man whose sir name is Heine. If people find humor in your sir name they are revealing the shallowness of their character. Ignore them lest you join their ranks.

  3. You have to search your own heart for the answer to that, but let me just suggest that if you do change it, pick something that is also very meaningful to your family, like your mother's maiden name or one of your grandparents last names.  Then you are still honoring your family and your roots.  There is WAY more to your roots than what your current last name happens to be.

  4. yeah that is a dilema. it should have nothing to do with what others think, poeple love to find fault in others even with silly things like that. all that matter is if YOU like your name. if you won't miss it, then get it changed legally it's not too hard.

  5. U SHOULD CUT U R SURNAME.
