  1. Be assistant until about two months after your baby is born. After that become head coach. If you love volleyball that much, go for it!

  2. I think you should ive been playing volley since i was 7 years old im coaching the 15-16 girls and i think its a good experience to show them what we know specialy for your kids. If your kids sees how much you love the sport and see how you play and how passionate you are about it they just might follow your foots step i love volley i love coaching i say you do it ...if after this year  you like it mabey next year you might be the head coach

    GOOD LUCK

  3. If your baby is due around the time of the chaching don't do it. But Otherwise go for it. The kids would love you.

  4. I would take the job as the assistant coach.  You love the sport and you love kids.  Someone above mentioned the stress.  Your love for the sport and the players will more than balance out any stress.  And as mentioned above, you will now have a new list of baby sitters for your children.  The plusses are far more than the minuses.

While I have never coached while being pregnant, I have coached against pregnant coaches.  (It just looks like I am pregnant even though I have finally lost some weight.)  I have even played co-ed volleyball with and against pregnant players.  And some of them were VERY pregnant.  As in 7 months.  And those babies are volleyball players now.  And some of them even have babies as well.

  5. Follow your heart.

  6. i think you should do it! if you love volleyball don't just quick. i would def. take the job as the assistant coach. there's 3 reasons why you should do it: the kids on the team will love your kids, it'll make you happy, and your kids will all grow up loving the sport!

  7. yeah its very difficult for you to coach since you are pregnant, but coaches have a lot of obligations and intensions...

do what you think its good for you, I know that is your favourite sport but you must think twice before your final decision .....

I love to volleyball and without that I wouldn't be opened in my life.....I mean to have more confident and thinking logic.

    Good luck!!!

  8. i think you should aat least be the assistant coach becasue it sounds like you really want to do it. And since you said your in college, dosnt that mean you are old enough to do things other than what you mom tells you to do?

    You should do it.

  9. Do what you want to, but i would recommend asst. coaching

  10. Welcome to coaching first of all. With all due respect to your mother, she's wrong. I know she wants low stress for you and your baby, but ultimately, you are the mother now and must do what you feel in your heart.

There are many coaches that coach while pregnant, One of our head coaches at my club was pregnant the entire season and she just had a baby now. She's also a varsity head coach at one of the area high schools. Now, being a male coach, I can never tell you how to have a happy and safe pregnancy, but I can tell you how rewarding it is for me as a volleyball player to teach kids (I coach girl's club 15s and boy's high school varsity) the sport I love.

Mothers are mothers and insist on mothering us, even when we are mothers and fathers ourselves, that will never change. Your mom needs to understand that moving about like an assistant coach would do during a pregnancy may actually help the health of the baby.

I highly recommend getting into it and if you feel asst. is the way to go at first, then you are probably exactly right. Even if you get into and have second thoughts, no one will be mad at you for bailing due to your pregnancy. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck in coaching.

  11. be ast. coach, after your baby is born(congrats) then go onto the head coach
