  1. how rude.

yea u shud complain, but i think u shud have complained right away or asked to speak to the manager.

its unacceptable. i dont know about the money thing, but the ladys remark is rude.

  2. You know if you feel that strongly then I would call the manager and tell him or her how you feel. That seemed rude of her and I can tell that it hurt you . So I would call and just mention that the girl who made your sandwitch made a remark that you did not like and you will most likely not want to come back and eat their. Stay strong!

  3. "Chipotle" doesn't sound anything like "soy", so I do think it's likely that she made an assumption based on your ethnicity; however, I'm not sure if that's racism. There are other factors to consider:

-Was her tone mean or rude? Or was she just silly?

-Was the restaurant in a diverse area or not? (I've been to small towns where people stare at me--I'm Chinese--and ask "Where are you from?". Is that racist? Probably not...they're just not used to seeing people of colour.)

-She seems to have no idea what soy or chipotle sauce are, going by your story. She may have been flustered or confused and didn't know what to say.

I can totally understand how annoying this must've been for you, but ultimately, I don't think it was malicious. She was ignorant, maybe, but probably not racist.

  4. Why does everything have to be racist? she just sounds like a twit to me. Maybe she was new and didn't know that they didn't have soy sauce, and didn't know what chipotle was. The putting of your sandwich on top? Sounds like she is still unsure of proper procedure, or she was trying to make it easier on you since she screwed up before. Maybe she was trying to make nice. Give her the benefit of the doubt, you could definitely be wrong, and if you are right, she will pull something idiotic again, and you will know for sure, and be justified in reacting by speaking to management, but don't lose the girl her job on a "maybe"!

  5. OK first consider the source.

second you really dont know if they understood you..correct?

go back and ask the same person if she understood you and can she repeat the order back.

you start getting some lip sir....take care of your business..."excuse me...i want to see the manager"..

your the customer ,so that means your the man...you got a trump card..play it..

    .

  6. Why automatically assume that she's being racist?.....

If she has no idea what that sauce is, she would have had the same problem understanding a white guy, a black guy or a green guy.

Really, why assume that this is about your race? and hey, even if she was been stupid and said soy sauce because you're asian, what exactly is racist about that? She might just have assumed that you wanted something that in your culture is common to eat.

At the end of the day, you can't go around letting people upset you even if they are being racist. Realise that their actions just reflect issues they have with themselves not you.

Learn to take responsibility for how you react to others, you have a choice as to how you want to handle something, choose not to be a Victim.

    Chi Chi x.

By the way, i'm latina and i experienced some racism growing up.
