Five years i went to gollege and started studying economics, after two years life turned against me and my health didn't allow me to go to school for one and a half year, ouch :(

Last year, things started to brighten up again and i decided to continue college, but this time to study real estate management instead.. ouch,

Now it is the end of summer and i'm deciding what to do this year, i don't want to continue real estate management as i find it not to be the field do get a diploma on.

So i am thinking... should i continue economics, were i have half the points needed to graduate or i should i get a job and forget about the college all together.

I feel pretty bad about not being able to make up my mind what to study and to change my field once again and would i really have a better life if i get a degree in economics, or is it just an illusion?

I'm 23 now and as my college life didn't went as planned, maybe i should get on with life and get a job?

  1. As someone who used to hire people...

Taking a look at an applicant who has some college vs someone who completed college, I'd go with the one who started something (college) and finished it.  You'll find that very few people have a passion and go to school for that passion and then get a degree and a job doing that passion.  I'm now working in a school district.  Outside of the teachers, the majority of workers there (aides, counselors, secretaries, etc..) got degrees in other fields.  It was that way in the public, too.  There are studies and those with degrees end up making more money.

Have you finished taking your general ed classes, you know the ones that they make you take?  If not concentrate on those and get them out of the way, do some more exploring.  Did you take those tests in high school where they show what field you'd do good in?  Take a look at that again, what area did it say to study?  Didn't take the test?  Check with the college and try and take it.  I remember taking the test in high school and looking at the results and thinking what a boring field.  Well, I found that test a few years ago and looked at it again, and it was right on, because it was the field that I found the long way around through trial and error.

Good luck, hope your health gets better.
