Should i do a paternity test?

i have just got in contact with my dad after 20 years known him for 3 weeks now and he has just dropped a bombshell saying that he had a operation down below that went wrong .. could i be his? his ex wife had 4 miscarrages. we are ordering a paternity test home one to see if i am his im scared as anything if it turns out i am his i will b over the moon but if im not then my mum has been lying to me i dont know what to do

take the test then stick it up his a** for waiting 20 years to even say hi to you

Take the test! It's the only way to REALLY know! I am 21 years old. My mother was 16 when she conceived me, and I don't know who my "real" father is. I have been tested 3 times over the years, and still don't know. If he is? CONGRATULATIONS!! If not? Then you and your mom need to sit down and talk.

Wow... I cannot imagine... You have to do what is best for you... Knowing who your father is is what you need.  I don't think anyone should have to go through what you are going through.  Lean on your friends and family for support.  A recommendation though:  I would have a swab done at a hospital or DNA center.... That is going to be the most accurate result.  You need to know for sure.  Good luck and keep your chin up.  There is always a bright side to everything and just remember, you are not alone in this.

If you have a father/child relationship and your heart says he's dad, then why the paternity test?  Go on with what you have and who cares if you share DNA or not.

if u known him for 3 weeks I dont understand why you would want to know if he is ur real father,, cuz blood is nothing,, u lived up unitl now without himm,, ur strong independent,, theres no difference in knowing him now,, If u feel u want a difference or want to  make one then i say take it but sometimes ignorance may and can protect u especially in ur situation..,,
