  1. If you are confident and comfortable with yourself and believe in your ability to perform, definitely do drama! Even if right now you're not that confident, acting and being part of an acting group will have such a great impact on your life, and will give you more confidence in general.

The only advice I can give you is to be passionate! Never let the flame in your heart die, and you'll be a great actress, because you'll love what you're doing. When playing a character, don't be afraid do dive into that character's life...acting gives you the chance to be a whole new person, and you cannot hesitate to take the chance. Never be timid when acting...unless you're playing a timid character. And don't be afraid to use your imagination, because you'll need to do that a lot.

  2. You should audition for a play or musical in college but I wouldn't declare that as your major until you've done it at least a few times. I was a double major in college with theater performance being one of them and unless you really plan to move to NY or LA then it's a waste of a major in my opinion. I had a blast doing it and I'm still doing theater in the St. Louis area but unless I move to one of the coasts...there's really no money in it. If nothing else, do it as your minor because I know that I am a much better performer with the background that i do have so it wasn't a complete waste but my job has nothing to do with theater, it was my other choices that are supporting me financially now!

  3.   With all do respect, I see many questions asking in this way 'Do Drama" What does that mean???

Without question, and regarding College, most especially those that offer drama courses/programs/clubs, if that's a direction you want to go in, then by all means do so, and enroll in those selections. I don't I can be argued with to say not ALL colleges have such programs.

I also think I'm not incorrect in saying that some level of education/training in the craft is a way to begin. Beyond that, not all Acting is Drama.

Tips: Hmmm. Learn the craft, practice the craft, have a Passion for the craft.

  4. Most colleges look for MAJOR talent and a lot of experience

I suggest going to your local community theater and starting there. its for experinces.

I truely say ACTING IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME! So shoot for the stars...Go for it if u feel u can do it!
