  1. Dress like you are going to attend class, nice but not "too" dressed up.  If it's a tour you might be walking alot, so wear comfortable shoes.  You'll be fine...all new freshmen feel this way.  GOOD LUCK!  (college prof)

  2. Keep it simple but classy, not too dressed up or they will think you are stick up!

Use sober colors and be comfortable cause sounds like you will be there for some time.

  3. I agree with the others - dress comfortably (campus tour implies a lot of walking) and appropriately (for the season and weather). I would say even jeans are fine! Being comfortable should help you relax and focus on what's important - the school and how much you like it!

The admissions forum is probably a large group of students, meaning you wont stand out. Unless you have an interview (I don't know of many schools who do that for undergrad), you'll want to dress like you were going to class (maybe a 1pm class rather than an 8am class ;).

I gave tours to incoming freshmen and their families for more than a year and not one person ever stood out to me for what they were wearing. Just don't ask your tour guide if you can video record them during the tour because that weirded me out. :)

  4. If you are just going on a tour, I would say business casual is fine.  Khaki pants and a nice shirt, etc.  If there is also an interview, then you my want to dress a bit more formally.

During college tours, you are guided by a current student and not an admissions officer judging how you dress.  Don't be nervous.  Tours are more important for you to decide if you want to attend that specific college--not to see if they want you.

    Good luck!
