  1. Yes.  Use #5 rebar @ 24" O.C. imbedded 8".  Install asphalt board as expansion joint and install cardboard sleeves to allow horizontal movement.  The rebar dowels will help with the vertical movement.

  2. I have never seen where the driveway is connected to the slab of the home. I see the  board; (expansion) material that is between the slab and the drive but I don't see why you would want these two connected. They need to expand and contract independently.

I'm not phishing like the other person thinks everyone is doing. I'm giving my opinion and i wouldn't connect it

  3. expansion joint ? yes

    re-bar ? i wouldnt...let them move independently...

  4. i would not attach driveway to garage. You want your pad to move with the changing ground without cracking. Ashalt board or foam is a good expansion joint. the doweling into your garage does depend on climate though, i am talking about were there is frost in the ground in the winter

  5. I'd give the 10 to number one, just because. I would suggest everything, but see no need for the cardboard sleeves.

I'd also suggest that other answer offering a link, seems to be PHISHING today, hitting every question, Leesa???
