i am going into sophomore year and i'm taking all honors classes and ap euro and ap u.s.

in freshman year, i applied for ap euro and u.s instead of hn civ and got in...is it considered a bad thing to drop out of a class?

i have an summer project for the class and i'm really REALLY stressing out about it. :( and if i'm like this right now, i'm wondering how i'd do in the actual class. and most of all, i'm worried about my future gpa. my friends in upper classes told me that even though they had straight a's in everything, the ap euro lowered it like crazy! also, they said they regretted taking the class because of the work and gpa damage... i don't know what to do.

should i drop ap euro and take honors civ??? (that's the alternative) please, i need advice.

  1. Try to finish the work (I get stressed too , I also have multiple summer projects), and if u can't. I suggest dropping and taking honors civ.  Better get better grades in a class which you can handle.

  2. You sound just like me- all worried about my classes during the summer!

Your friends may not be at your same academic level, so don't completely rely on what they say (besides realizing that the class is harder than some other classes).

If this is all that's scaring you, I'd say stick with the class.

Also, remember that teachers try to intimidate students out of taking classes by assigning lots of work during the summer and beginning of the year. So if the AMOUNT of work is scaring you, it's okay, stick with it, it'll get better.

However, if you're scared because the material is very complicated and you can't understand it, drop out.

    Good luck!

PS Why don't you take another AP class instead of Honors Civ, if you're concerned about your GPA?

  3. I say drop AP Euro if you can't take the heat, especially if it's lowering your grade. AP Euro is basically history itself, so stick with AP U.S. and your other AP classes.
