Should i feed my tadpoles bread crumbs?

I found some tadpoles in a big puddle by lake superier, now they are at my house and i dont know what to feed them....Any ideas?? I was thinking bread crumbs

I heard to feed them boiled lettuce but i dont have any leetuce right now, when i get lettuce i will start feeding them it. But in the meantime what should i feed them?

  1. Yes they will do very well on bread crumbs and may I suggest you place this under reptiles category?


  2. NO! They cannot digest bread. They eat microscopic "critters" in pond and puddle water. Can you get more of the puddle water? That's what they need. Or, fish food. Freshwater fish food.

  3. They actually eat meat - like insect larvae etc. Probably they would like something like fish- food.

    Not sure, I remember at school we put a piece of raw meat on a string and dangled it in the tank. ( but that was a loooong time ago)
