  1. Your best best is to get !, and get a male. Males are more docile comparatively than females. If you get him young enough, and handle him enough he will imprint from you and you could possibly even get him to talk. All of my males did when I was younger. I have a bunch that I have now that were rescues. They'll happily let me do what I need to in order to keep their cage clean & keep them fed & watered, but they won't let me touch.

If you have 2 of them together they really have no use for you and it's going to take more work on your part. Plus since they're hard to s*x when they're young you could end up with a male and a female and while they may not necessarily fall in love, babies are always a possibility and trust me, that's a headache you really do not want to under take. Their babies are super fragile and sometimes the older ones will kill them. It's a lot of time patience and possible heartache.

Just get one, it's easier and you can possibly get him to talk.

  2. ok if u want to handel them alot then u should only get one so they dont get distracted.if u get 2 then they might not let u handel them alot.if u get 2 then u would have to see to that u played with them equally.but if u had 1 then it doesnt really matter .

  3. A few years ago we got just one, they need companionship! If you are not around enough it is possible it will become depressed and not eat and die, that is what happened to our first one.  This year we got one and she did great someone was home at all times, then when our schedules changed we got a second one so she wouldn't have to be alone ever. And now we have three.  The last one we got is a little hard headed and doesn't want anything to do with people but the other two are what you would think a pet bird should be.  I would say get two cages, so you can separate them when you want to work on training, but I would keep them together because they are flock animals.

  4. Well you have to play with them for at least 15 mins  a day . Well its your choice; Do you want 2 to keep ther other one busy when your not there? Our do you just want to give the one a mirror? ( not trying to make it sound bad to have just one. ) Also If you wanted to handle them alot you could get 2. and then just get a trainning cage for them . And its the same anount to time for every budgie. And if you play with it more. it will tend to bond with you more. Enjoy!
