  1. Hard to know for sure if/when the D90 will be released.

Do you currently have a camera? Is this an upgrade, or a first-time DSLR buy?

The D80 is a great camera, I've been using one for about a year and a half now. But I expect its replacement to have some of the great innovations in the recently released D300.

Tough call. How bad do you "need" a camera? If it's not an urgent need, it might be worth waiting on this one.

  2. Just ask yourself one question: "How many photo opportunities might I miss while I wait for the D90, and are the features on the D90 worth those missed opportunities?"

If you have done your research, and the D80 is adequate for your needs, then don't wait.  I considered waiting for the Olympus E-520, but bought the E-510 and am very glad I did.  I have taken some amazing photos in the last couple of weeks that I would have missed if I had waited.

    Good luck!

  3. It depends.

If this is your first DSLR, the don't wait ... get the D80 and start shooting.

By the time you have learned how to use all of its features, the new "D90" may have been out long enough for the prices to have come down and you may be able to afford to own both.  In any case, you will know if you want to spend the money on a D90 at that time ... in the meantime, enjoy shooting.

  4. i wouldnt wait. there probably wont be a great difference between them if/when a D90 comes out (there isn't that much between the D80 and the D200!!) and there's no point in wasting time waiting when u could be out there taking shots!!!

  5. I recommend the newest Canon XS dslr camera

This dslr camera has exciting options, so i suggest it to you
