  1. Sliders won't save your skin as my husband discovered in a slow speed slide. The sliders in fact received the brunt of the damage, but his left knee and leg suffered some serious strawberries too. He was doing about 25 when the rear tire broke loose in some sand in a curve. Luckily his jacket and glove saved more wear and tear on his left wrist and forearm area. It can happen so fast even at a slow speed that you wil find yourself sliding on some part of you body too. Hopefully never will happen to ya.

Best of luck with whatever your choice is. I ride a Ninja 250 and it's enough for me and my experience. I can't say whether or not to buy the FZ, but I can tell you, the hubby's R6 is a bunch to handle for my lack of experience. The wise choice is to buy a good used machine that you won't mind if it gets crashed a bit. Get more experience and confidence under your belt and then go hop on a bigger badder machine. Remember, inexpererience can kill on the wrong bike.

Just remember to buy and wear the proper riding gear. One day you may be glad you did. :-) Take the MSF course as it will help with your confidence. Ride safe!

  2. what about a ninja 250 or a gz 250...get something small..or get an older cruiser...like a cb550k or somthing..those are pretty sweet...

    im 22 and i have a 2007 yamaha vstar 1100 custom...dont buy it new like i did...worst mistake ever...

  3. I wouldn't advise getting an FZ6 as your first bike. These bikes are very fast. I'm not saying you would but the temptation to twist that throttle would probably get the better of you. That could prove to be a fatal error.

You've already said your not afraid of crashing so why buy a new bike and s***w it and possibly yourself up. At your age and no riding experience at all you should start with a smaller, easier to manage bike. After you get your riding legs under you then get that FZ6.
