  1. girl

  2. If you're going to get your puppy spayed/neutered, then there won't be much of a difference in their personalities. I have a spayed female and she is not at all temperamental, aggressive, or jealous. Males are a lot less aggressive and territorial if they're neutered. The only real difference is the size, but that can sometimes be no difference. My female dog is the biggest in a litter of 3 males and 2 females.

  3. Depends on the breed really. If it's a difficult/ very large powerful breed, you're better with a girl, as they tend to be less aggressive/ less difficult. Even a castrated male dog will usually be more aggressive than a female. Girls often have better temperaments, but most male dogs if castrated are just as good pets. It's up to you really, good luck chosing your puppy!

  4. flip a coin

  6. um..boy?

  7. UUHHM..I JUST RECENTLY GOT A PUPPY 2 MONTHS AGO AND IT'S A BOY. I WANTED A GIRL BUT HE'S SO CUTE AND I LOVE HIM! PERSONALLY I THINK YOU SHOULD GET A BOY BECAUSE THEY WANT TO PLAY A LOT MORE THAN THE GIRLS AND PLUS GIRLS HAVE (GIRL PROBLEMS) AND YOU'LL HAVE A LOT MORE TO DEAL WITH. THEY CAN ALSO BE A LITTLE MEAN.

  8. There actually isn't a lot of real difference in male or females in everyday life.  Females are usually a little smaller and they cost a little bit more to have spayed.

  9. I love both a male or female dog. I don't think, IMO, that there is a difference in the 2. Some people say that female dogs are smarter but I don't know about that. Good Luck, I guess I really didn't help. Sorry.

  10. I have a boy (desexed though) and a girl dog. Lily is the first girl I have ever owned and is a sheer delight. I find that she is more obedient, respectful and eager to please, but that could just be due to their breeds too.

Remember that a female will get her periods unless fixed, and they can sometimes get a little moody during this time, and may lead to her roaming or trying to get out.

But with this also said, a male that isnt desexed can be a pain in the **** when taking on walks. You will stop at every tree trunk, street light to pee over everything.

So I guess as long as you are responsible and get them desexed - it doesnt really matter too much.

  11. You should get a boy because a girl will have periods and blood will litter you house.

  12. Boy puppys are cheeper and can be a lot sweeter. Girl pups are very tempermental. I would go for a male. Good luck, hope this helps!

  13. It depends entirely on motivation.. what makes you want a boy, versus your dad wanting a girl...

maybe you should ask your dad why he thinks that a girl would be better.. and then marry that up with your thoughts on a boy..

Obviously, the difference in sexes varies greatly between breeds and applications, so it would help if you would give an idea of the breed you are looking at, and the things that you are likely to do with your dog..

Of course, as a responsible dog owner, you'll have to give some thought to the spay/neuter thing.. and if it's likely to be your decision to spay your pet.. What difference is the original s*x of your pup likely to be??

Hope it helps.. If not let me know..

I wish you well with your new family member

  14. I have always found that a female dog is the best because they tend to  be more faithful and loyal, of course you will have to get it spayed when it reaches 6 months old.

  15. Personal preference. You must make that decision.

Do your research and see what related health problems they may develop. That could very well get you & your Dad on the same page.  Either way you'll love your puppy.
