Hi, i'm 14 years old, about 5'6" and 120 pounds. I got a crf-150f in december and ive ridden it alot since then. Ive gotten alot better and i really want a faster bike. My dad says we can sell my bike and use the money to get a new bike. I fit the 150r really good, and my friend has one too, so i dont know which one to get. Is there a big difference between the crf150r and crf250r? The point of getting the 250r is first off is that i wont grow out of it so easily. I also dont know if my dad would go out and trade in the 150r again in maybe a year or so because he is already losing money.

I just need to know how much more powerfull it is, because i can ride my friends 150r so i can know how powerfull that is. Please help, thanks

  1. CRF250

  2. From memory there is about 6hp difference between the two bikes.

Like you say you are a perfect size for the crf150r, but if you are racing it you would have to be prepared to move on in two years anyway as you could only race it till 16.

If you grow even an inch or two you are going to find yourself cramped on the bike, so that is the decision you have to make.  You may find the crf250r a bit much to start with but if you don't want to have to upgrade in 12 months you may be better off with one than the crf150r.

If you are worried you will be stuck with the smaller bike then you should get the bigger one and recognise that it is going to be a handful for a while so take it easy.

  3. i am about like 5'3'' and i ride a crf 250r ..... so you can do if you have been riding.... but i use starting blocks also...

  4. alright so your going honda, honestly get a 2 stroke but you may not want one if your coming off a 150f, the powerband will WRECK you

my friend has a 150r and man i dont like that thing its poo

i liked my yz 85 more

    Right now i have a yz 125(ROCKET)

get the 250, you might need to get the seat cut a lil bit but its all good

it will be better for you in the long run im 5,6 115 lbs and a yz 85 is way to small for me

and the 150r is smaller then a 85

if you get the 150 it will only last for like 4 months and youlle not want to ride it cause it will be to small

but if you do end up getting a 150r make sure its a 08 model

the 07's had problems with blowing cans

    and you dont want that!

    GO for the 250

  5. i would get the 250 cause there cant be much defferince between the 2 150s

  6. I would go for the 250 because you are going to grow more so within a few months or so it would fit you good too...

    good luck
