Hamsters are ok pets, they won't show affection or beg to be held. If they get out of their cage its gonna be h**l to find it. make sure you research any animal you want to buy to make sure its the right animal for you. 1-3 years can be along time to have to take care of somthing you dont like.

it depends on what type, but usually with love and care they last about 1~2 years.  Names with J I like is: Jacky, Justin, Jacob, Jack, July, Julie, Jenna, Jamie, Jessica, John

Dwarf hamsters aren't a major hassle, so having them as a pet might be nice. Robo hamsters live the longest though. Record was over a little over 4 years.

hamsters live to about 2 to 3 years but it also depends on if its healthy or not. if you do get a hamster you should get a teddy bear hamster there the nicest and calmest ones i have two teddy bear hamsters. i think you should name it Jasper!!

don't get one there dirty animals and they stink and run away! get a bird instead!

Hamsters live (on average) 2 to 3 years. They are around for a nice long time, but I like to think, not too long (like Guinea Pigs or dogs).

All the names seem nice, but I would recommend choosing the name when you get your hamster (normally, the name will just click  in your head like it's perfect for the hamster you are getting).
