Should i get a hermit crab?

Question

if i do i will only get one and have play dates with my friend who has three.

good idea?

I currently only have 3 hermits and can't wait to get more. They are better in groups though so get atleast 2 you have to keep an eye on them if they aren't in their crabitat. they are great climbers and will escape whenever possible :D they are relatively easy to care for and are always up to some kind of mischief. My larger one likes to rearrange everything in the tank and dump food over which is fun to watch but a pain to clean up after. Before buying any pet do research... alot of it.

Hermit crabs live in groups and are not loner creatures they love the company of other LHC there are not aggressive or do they fight with each other. You really need to do some research on the LHC before getting them and if the only reason you want a LHC is because of you Friend and a play date then don't get one you just don't stick them in a bowl and that's that they need care.. www.hermit-crab.com and think before you buy..

yea if i wuz u i wouldnt get one cuz ive had like 3 {not at thu same time} and they ddnt liv long- basically a waste of moolah...get a turtle :)

No you are irresponsible for getting a hermit crab to "just have playdates". They are living breating things, NOT TOYS!!!

my neice had some... and when she tried to show them to her friends... they were mean to each other. ask your mom about a fish tank if you think that is something you want. good luck

Sure!!! They are not boring, and with proper care, they can live for a VERY long time!!! And, no. I don't think they would fight. Oh, and you would have to do a lot of playdates, and play with it a lot if you only had one. It would be fun!!!

Definetly get a hermit crab(and don't listen to those who say they're boring)! I have five and they're really fun! You can make mazes for them and have races with other hermit crabs, just be careful of the bigger ones' claws! If you have any hermit questions I can answer them!
