i've been riding for a couple of years on my crf 100f. i've ridden my friends bikes. an rm 80 a kx 100 and a raptor 350. i'm deciding if i should get the 250f or the 100. which is better for just riding around and having fun. i'm not racing at all. i ride in the woods and out in the open. i'm leaning more toward the 250f but i'm not sure

  1. I will come out and admit that my personal knowledge if the lastest MX bikes is a little behind, however , after speaking to a couple of mates from the Yorkshire (UK) MX Team Suzuki [ it was mt brothers babys head wetting.... any excuse to talk MX !! ] and they are that Aurburns comments are correct.

Its a great bike to grow into.

I'm sure you will do just fine.

  2. well i suggest the CRF250X, i race and ride in the woods with my CRF250F and its pretty hard in the woods, if i have a choice i ride my dads x on the trails. with the 250f you need to keep it going too fast, there is no electric start, and it is a pain to kick start. defiantly not what you want to do on the middle of a hill. the 250x is much much more comfortable, due to the fact that, stock settings, the shocks are not as tight, also the seat is more plush. they will both be amazing and you would love either but since you say you dont race i would suggest the 250X

  3. get the 250f man!!! its a really nice bike the new 08 model is the best 250f of the year get it u wont be sorry.

  4. Wow... those are 2 completely different bikes.

A KX100 is a minibike that your sister or mom could probably ride.  If you weigh more than 100 lbs, don't even consider it.

But the 250F is a total beast.  If you don't have great throttle control, you will literally fly off the back and crash.  Have you ever noticed the new seats with humps that help keep you from falling off the back?

But once you learn, the 250F can be easy to ride.

  5. If you are coming off a smaller bike the suzuki 250f is a good bike for moving on to a 250f as it is slightly smaller.

But as Will has pointed out with a very good answer, the Crf250x could also be a good option as it isnt a full on race bike but still has a number of the nicer features that a race bike has, but it is more for trail.

A lot would depend upon how big you are yourself, but go along to a few shops and sit on a few bikes to see what suits.  Also what the best bike you can get for your money could come into it so see what the best deal is.

Ultimately whatever bike you get should suit your needs no matter what brand it is and contrary to what another answerer who is stalking me seems to believe I do not think Honda is the only decent bike available.  In fact the 2008 kx250f is known to be the better 250f this year and I would not purchase a honda cr125 but would recommend a yz125.

I would also appreciate it if the person stalking me would just get over it .
