Should i get a male or female yorkie?

which one is easier to take care and easier to train?

im not sure, but you should go to the pound, or north shore animal league, or somewhere where the animals REALLY need u! u can save a life!!! i saved 3 cats, they may be mixes, but i LOVE them and they would have died without me & my family!!!

males are more territorial and attached to owners.

females are easier to train, laid back, and more independant, i would get a female.

Yorkies are very smart, very tenacious and very independent.  I even read in a yorkie book once, "If you want an obedient dog that is easy to train, DON'T get a yorkie"!

Research the breed before you make a decision.

Either one is going to be pretty much the same when taking care of and training them. If you ever plan to get another one and want the same s*x then I would suggest males because females can get very dominant with each other. Good luck! Have fun with your yorkie!

Search for your local Yorkie or toy dog breed rescue. PLEASE STOP SUPPORTING PUPPY MILLS!!

Boy or girl, just make sure you aren't buying a puppy mill dog.

oh god. my mom has a yorkie and this thing yaps at everything that walks by, he bites everyones ankles that walks through the door, he pees on EVERYTHING. even after he was just outside he pees on everything. HE is very territoral and very aggressive, granted he still has his nuts which probably dosent help. i HATE HATE HATE that dog. i dont know if its all yorkies but i would NEVER advise anyone to get one of those things.

but if your set on getting one id say either one is fine just make sure you get it fixed

i think a female who be best because they are more friendly males hump and like to tear up stuff
