Should i get a new cockatiel?

I've had my cockatiel for under a year and think I should get him a friend because It doesnt seem fair to leave him by himself when I'm not at home.

He has been introduced to a budgie before and he did try and make friends (although the budgie wasnt particularly interested ahah)

He was also a hand reared bird so should i get another hand reared one or not?

I think it's a good idea to get a companion bird for your cockatiel, I just wouldn't have them live in the same cage or they may not let you hold them because they will end up liking each other more than you, so get another cage then get another hand reared cockatiel.

Cockatiels should have another cockatiel with them in the cage. It tends to make them happier because they like to play with eachother. I have a cockatiel and he is 17 human years old. Hand reared or not it doesn't matter. (If you cannot get another bird, get a mirror for him/her)
