  1. They make very affectionate pets, but you must make sure they never roam free, because you will have a mess of holes in everything! They will chew electrical wiring also.

The dogs may be a problem. If they kill rabbits & frogs, they will kill rodents alo.Rabbits are rodents.

I love frogs & have 6 of different varieties right now.If my cats tried to hurt them,I would get rid of some cats or give the frogs to a safer owner.I also have 3 hamsters & the cats love them. They run together when the little poots find a way out of their cages!LOL!

  2. I had a rat once, and it was really friendly and rather clean. You should get one as long as your dogs won't kill it, and you give it attention (they get lonely if they don't get much attention or if they don't have another rat with them).

  3. i dont have a ratty anymore but i have kept them for years (since i was 5 or 6, im now 16) i couldnt get another one after Leo died (Leo, my last ratty) because of my GCSE's and i had to studdy alot.

ratties are the best companion rodent because they do get really attached to you.

if you buy an adult ratty, you will not have such a good bond because he will miss his last owner - thats how sweet they are.

My friend (also the owner of a small pet shop) toled me never to get a mouse because they STINK!!! and they do.

the smell of them gets on your clothes and you cant wash it off.

Ratties dont smell at all if they are cleaned out regularly but dong get one if you plan on leaving it in its cage all day because it will become depressed and fat.

they need companionship - like a dog does and he will be more than happy just sitting on your shoulder while you walk around the house, watch tv mine even used to get on the bus and come to the shop with me!!! no joke.

People sometimes have issues with their tails, but thats normal and the tails are soo cool!

yes get one and you will never look back, trust me!!

    have fun with your rattie!

  4. Yes they are great little pets, however they prefer to live in pairs.  So I would advise you to buy two.  Keep them away from your dogs if you decide to buy them.  Good luck

  5. no

  6. No! Their tails are gross :P

Get a dwarf hampster! They are cute and like 15 bucks.

  7. Yes, rats can be cute pets.

However, you have to keep them in the cage most of the time so it wouldn't be as fun as having a cat or dog, they can also bite.

However, they can make interesting pats and they are awake during the day.

  8. Yeah! Get it! rats are so cute and their tails are addorable!

Dont worry about your dogs. If you are concerned, keep the rats in a room that the dogs cant get into.

Otherwise, just keep them quite high up, out of reach of the dogs, and make sure the cage does NOT have wires! Big strong metal wires are bad!

I was told by my vet that their teeth are so strong they will bend through the metal and break free! Make sure the cage is plastic and doesnt have anny wires! Remember this! :)

  9. rats are really good companions, they dont require much maintainance either (cept u should clean their cage evry few days)

they can become quite tamed and lovable, also they are really fun to cuddle and hold on too

  10. If you want one. You can keep it in its cage thing and your dogs cant get it.
