hi, any advice would be great...i recently saw a consultant at HNS hospital and he seem very rude and not really listening to my problems or worries that i had about a certain health issue i have, the doctor i saw before the consultant seem to think i would need a different treatment to my problem but the consultant seem to be sure he was right and that i should have an operation that he thinks will solve the problem, but i am not to sure, i feel that the doctor i saw first had a more understandable way to go with this problem, should i just go private and have a private consultant to check it out?? has anyone ever had an experience like i have with the NHS consultant being very rude and unwilling to listen to my concerns and thoughts on my problem...hope this makes sense to everyone and any help will be v grateful :)

  1. I think that anytime a doctor is suggesting surgery, you should get a second opinion.  I also think that if you are not comfortable with the doctor then you should find on that you are comfortable with.  Although, my husbands back surgeon had the WORST bedside manner, but was a brilliant surgeon.

Second opinions NEVER hurt, and if it offends the FIRST opinion, then you don't want to use that person!
