  1. meet half way electro accoustic

  2. to learn - acoustic.

to annoy the c**p out of your neighbours then an electric but remember you will need an amp and speaker too.

  3. I think you should get an acoustic. They are beautiful instruments and you can take them anywhere. On them you can play rock or pop songs, designed for electric as well as the classical and world music side of the guitar. It offers a huge variety of music open to you and a wider variety of skills that you can learn. If you want you will still be able to cross over to electric, but I think that starting on an acoustic is the best idea.

  4. An electric guitar will cost you a lot because of all the equipment you need - amp etc.

Depends what you want to do. If you're learning, get an acoustic guitar. If you want to play in a band, get an electric guitar and all the equipment.

  5. it depends on what kind of music you want to play. if you want music with a more pure sound, go with the acoustic. its good for melodic music. electrics are great for killer solos, metal, if you ever want to distort your sound. also take into consideration the money, acoustics are way cheaper (hey, if you want to REALLY use the electric, your gonna need an amp, distortion pedal, wammy bar, chords...). my suggestion, if you're just learning, get an acoustic. that way if you decide you dont want to play, you didn't spend a million dollars to NOT play guitar.

  6. acoustic for something sweet and original and an electric for fun a noise. hope it helps xD

  7. You could split the difference and get a simi-acoustic guitar, or a newer acoustic that you can plug into an amp. but it really does matter what style you're going for.

  8. learn on acoustic, then graduate to a electric. But I personally recommend acoustic.

  9. Your final choice should be based on where your

musical interest is at the present time.

Acoustic guitars (both; nylon strings and steel strings) will play any type of musical style well.

The acoustic-nylon strings, often referred to as a

"classical" guitar is the first choice of players in the

classical music field but many folk music and jazz players also use this type of instruments because

they like to use their fingers (finger-style) instead of a pick to play.

The acoustic-steel strings, mostly referred to as just acoustic guitar is the preferred instruments of

those players who just play chords(harmony - not melody) and primarily use a "pick" for playing. You can play any style of music with these guitars, but

the steel-strings are harder (more "punishing" on

your fingers than nylon-strings) and the sound tends to be "brighter - less mellow" than the sound

    from nylon strings.

The electric guitar almost always is played with a

pick - the strings are harder- and also this type of

guitar needs an outside source for sound reproduction (an amplifier) therefore you need to

buy two pieces of equipment - the guitar and the

amplifier). This guitar is the preferred choice for

players concentrating on "rock" style music but you can also play any style of music with this guitar. Again this guitar (as well as the steel-strings

acoustic) is used mostly for harmony chords playing. very few players use this instrument to play the melody part of a song.

Unless you are "set" on playing mostly "rock" the

acoustics (nylon or steel strings) will be a more versitile instrument for a beginner. They are also less "heavy" and easier to tote around.

I hope this quick response will help somewhat in

    norrowing your choice of instrument.

Good Luck and enjoy your guitar,

  10. depends on your type of music you want to play

  11. electric!

  12. depends on what you wanna play....electric is more versatile but i like the sound of a nice acoustic much more. They have acoustic/electrics that you can plug into an amp and they have pickups and all that so that's also an option

  13. acoustic, less money for an amp!

  14. It depends on what sound you wish to achieve. An acoustic guitar has a more mellow sound. If you are trying to play lead guitar in a band, an electric is best. Both are good for rhythm.
