Should i get another hamster?

The one i had died on November 24. I already had a guinea pig at the time, but he died on June 10. Between the two deaths, i got a chinchilla. My hamster lived about two years and I loved him SO much. I don't know whether or not i should get another. I just have a chinchilla now, and I want another little critter, but I'm not sure....help!

Well you will probably have your hands full with your chinchilla. But if you think that you can juggle a hamster and your chinchilla with giving each excellent care then go for it!! You had a hamster for two years and that is very good so you definitely know how to take care of a hamster. I think that you should get a hamster so you can have a chinchilla and a hamster. Since you have already had a hamster you know what kind of care they require and all so you will be prepared. If you think that you wont have enough time for both of them then try to avoid getting another hamster. Im sure if you choose to get a hamster he will be healthy and healthy.

Look into how to introduce chinchilla to each other so the other one doesn't get lonely.  If they would fight then just put the cages next to each other.

Of course you can get another hamster!  Just make sure that you don't put the chinchilla in the new hamsters cage cuz they will probably fight if they don't know eachother at all=)

well, what are reasons you wouldn't want one? you said you had one before, so do you still have its cage? disinfect it and you don't need to buy a new one - so that isn't an issue. and hamsters are nocturnal so if you're at school or work all day, they won't get lonely.

if you really like to take care of hamsters and want another one, go for it!

well if i were you id write down all the pros and cons about getting a new pet consider every thing and see what you come up with and then you'll be able to decide weather or not to get a new pet, but if you want my opinion i suggest you don't it sounds like you've had a ruff time with your pets.

I don't see any reason for you not to get another if you really like them as they do only live two to three years so you're not tying yourself down because of your pet! Just remember that chinchillas can live for about 20 years so don't over-pet yourself if you don't really have the space or time.

If you want one and you loved the last one then you should get one, just beware the newbie might not be as friendly on the other hand it could be even more friendly =]
