  1. You really NEED to get another rat, actually. Rats are very social, and do much better in pairs. Being let out once a day isn't nearly enough.

Get another girl, and introduce them slowly, first between the bars of two different cages. Then OUT of the cage, but not where the first one usually plays. Then introduce them where the first one DOES play. Don't just put the new one in the cage. Girls are usually easy to introduce, as they aren't as territorial as boys.

This has EVERYTHING you need to know. :P

  2. yes you should, get another female rat. i just got new rats from a completely different litter than my other two & they welcomed them with opened arms. but all rats are different. get another female (unless you want rat babies then get a male but i highly suggest you don't do that) & keep the new female in a different cage & put the two cages up next to eachother & see what they do. either they'll just sniff & do nothing, or they will try to attack. goodluck!

  3. i would get a boy but in a months
