Should i get catnip when i get a cat

Depends if your cat will be affected by it or not.

There's no reason why you should/shouldn't buy catnip...each cat has a preference.

Yeah i got cat nip for my Cat when he was a kitten and he loved it, But it depends how young he is if hes really yung i woldnt but you can

As long as you don't give him too much (a good pinch is more than enough) it's ok.  I buy a pound jar of it, and put my cats smaller toys in it for a few hours (or overnight) and shake the excess off gently.  Old toys become new again to them that way.  They also enjoy the mice you put catnip inside, and will play with it for hours when I put fresh 'nip in it (we have three mice now because they will wrestle over who gets it).  Like anything, everything in moderation.
