Question:

Should i get my contacts in powers?

I just ordered 3 pairs of contacts. These contacts are disposable use after one year. My prescription ends in December. Should I get them in 0.0 since they are mostly for cosmetic use anyways, or should I get them in power? I am not that bad I am usually -1.25 -1.00. I am afraid that if my eye site gets worse I can’t use the contacts anymore. Or does it not matter? Power is better than no power?

  1. No - you won't be able to see very well w/out a power in them.  Even though you're only -1.25 and -1.00, prescriptions for contacts go in quarter increments and you are at that point where if you where them they could get better, but if you don't you could get a lot worse.  Don't mess w/ your eyes!

  2. Power better than no power, not because of waste but when you need a prescription your eyesite worsens. Why didn't you just get a new exam and ordered the right Rx? Thoughtless. See if the office can help you out.

  3. If your eyes get worse, all will happen is that you won't see as clear with them but can still see at very good levels. That doesn't mean you won't be able to wear them. Just order ones with your new prescription every time you go for your exam.

By 'powers', I don't get what you mean but all contacts' powers are measured in -X.XX too.

  4. Yes, u shd get the ones with power.
