  1. There is no simple answer to your question because no matter how good the manufacturer is, everything becomes suspect once it is used. If a vehicle has been neglected, damaged by accident or flood, or worse, rebuilt, it does not matter if it was once the greatest on Earth.

If you know the history of the Honda, and it is good, it might not be a bad deal.  But if you have owned the Ford since it was new, and you are purchasing the Honda off a used car lot or from a private person that you do not know, then it is very risky.

  2. I don't think so. The focus is a good car. It used to be better and really the best small car when it was new back in 2000-2003 but it has been redesigned till 08 and it is not a major redesign. My point is it isn't better than the civic but still a solid car. If the focus is doing it for you than I think it be more of a hassle to get the civic. But if you have it paid off and don't mind going through the car buying ordeal go ahead just make sure it is mechanically sound.  But if I were you and going to get a new car I'd go with at least and 07.

    Edit:

Sorry, I didn't see your details at first.

The focus does get side crash results that aren't the best but I don't think they're enough to justify getting the Civic. The focus has optional abs so you might have that but the Civic has standard I think. But if you have it on your focus your good. With the cost some money comment, if your basically just trading cars and only have to pay a few hundred dollars difference I'd do it if your that concerned about safety.

I also looked back into the 05 ratings and the Focus is just as good or better than the Civic.

  3. I also dont think it would be a great idea, unless your focus isnt doing well for you? if your going pay money for a new car i would want to move up in yrs or miles.

Unless your focus is falling apart dont bother, drive it till the wheels fall off then get a new one.

  4. why would you get rid of a perfectly good car?>

The Honda Civic gets a little bit better in safety ratings, but not enough to where you need to trade in your car.

Its really not worth the money. With the economy going the way it is, keep that car for as long as you can! Saving yourself car payments can add up!
