i have a black berry pearl right now and i really like it. my contract is up next month and i couldnt imagine liffe without another blackberry but i really want a full keyboard. I was wondering what some pros and cons about the curve and the 8820 (not the 8830 because i have tmobile) are and which you would choose AND WHY...i know the 8820 doesn't have a camera but that doesnt rally matter to me

thanks!

  1. the pearl is raw

  2. You have the camera part right.   Curve is the way to go on the GSM carrier network (if you were asking about Sprint or VZW -- that has international capabilities, but you are not)

    Curve because:

    1.  More memory

    2.  Keyboard more appealing (to me and most people that I know).  Feel keyboard/type for yourself at store

    3.  Slightly smaller (width) than 8820

    4.  Better looking ("curvy"), than 8820 (more square)

    5.  T Mobile has WiFi on the Curve (not sure if has it on the 8820).  Great for alternate connections, can even add voice plan to talk unlimited via WiFi.  While on WiFi, can leave WiFi coverage and call continues with GSM carrier (works great) -- does not work the other way.  Good also for people that may have coverage problems at home/office and have a DSL/Cable modem with WiFi coverage.

    Hope this helps.

  3. I, too, would recommend the Curve just because it is closer in size to the Pearl and the keypad is more appealing. The Curve and the 8820 both come with Wi-Fi, and the 8820 does have built-in GPS as well, which is nice. Both devices are nice, but the keypad is what made me choose the Curve over the 8820.

  4. I would dump both phones and get the Tilt!
