  1. yes

  2. Sure.  Make sure you have the proper clothing.  I kayak year round and wear a fleece layer and a polypropylene layer with a dry top.  On the bottom, I wear a pair of wool socks, fleece tights and shorts.  You may also want a pair of neoprene gloves or pogies (oven mitts on your paddle) to keep your hands warm. I'm a whitewater kayaker so I'm rolling and getting wet a lot. I stay warm for a couple of hours and then head home for a hot bath and a cup of cocoa.  You can always find a kayaking trip abroad in the winter and bask in the tropical sunshine!

Since I know there are added risks with the colder water, I always leave a note on my dry erase calendar that says where I'm going or call a family member and tell them where I'll be.

    Happy Paddling!

  3. you may freeze your *** off but why not

  4. I have and it wasnt a walk in the park. I was in Alaska on a 14 mile kayaking trip. Dont wear cotton, it holds water. wear fleece and wool. wool socks work too. If you are just doing a day trip then you should be fine without a spray skirt but I like to take one just in case. Also take a couple blankets and wrap up your legs.

  5. That depends on where are you kayaking. If the water body is frozen into  ice you can do some jogging instead of kayaking.

Else you can go in a closed kayak that is centrally heated.

Else go at 12pm, to soothe things a little bit.

No one said you should not, but at your own risk of freezing or atleast catching a cold
