i have been on cymbalta (an antidepressant) for about 4 months now. i take it because i have a chronic sickness which can put me in a slump with aches and pains.

but i ask my question because i have to wake up very early to take it, because if i take it in the afternoon i get a horrible nauseating headache.

now i think my chronic condition is lifting a bit and i'm feeling a bit better, but i wonder if i'm feeling better BECAUSE of the cymbalta. but i wonder about the headache i get...maybe i should go off cymbalta?

any imput would be great.

  1. alot of people when put on anti depressants, after a while start feeling fine, and question if they should still take it or not and you are supposed to keep taking the medication so that it keeps working....and stopping suddenly could make u have bad side effects like change in mood.

  2. Leslie, Cymbalta is being used frequently off label (meaning not what it is developed for) for chronic pain conditions.  It works for some and not for others.  If it is working or seems to be working, I would not stop it until you have a chance to talk to your doctor.  Congrats on finding a way to take it to avoid the side effect you are having, that is a small price to pay for the relief of the aches and pains.
