My foot has been hurting the past 3 days. I thought it was because of a pair of shoes I wore because my toe was numb after and I also had a slight pain in my heel. Today however, it is a little swolen, the pain is worse all over although I can bare it. I just need an opinion on if I should go to the doctor today (I have an hour left to go if I do) or if I'm being too paranoid and should wait until Monday to see if it still is hurting me then... Thanks!

  1. put ice on it, for a few days if you dont get better, go to the doc

  2. Wait till Monday. If its the shoes it should get better by then.

  3. The only way to know for sure is to get your foot X-rayed. If you can stand the pain until Monday then wait and see your regular doctor. Alternate heat and ice--heat helps with the pain and promotes circulation to the area, which will help whatever it is heal. Ice will reduce the swelling. You can also take an over the counter pain medication like Advil, which in an anti-inflammatory medication and stay off your feet as much as possible. Keeping the foot elevated will help reduce the swelling also.

If you the pain is getting worse, then go today. The worse the pain gets the harder it will be to make it go away. They will probably X-ray the foot and let you know if it's broken. Even if it is, there may not be anything they can do other than give you a boot to wear. There are so many ligaments in the foot that they pretty much keep the bones in the foot stable enough for it to heal on their own.

If the X-ray shows no breaks, there may be something else like a bone spur in your heal (which will also show up on the X-ray) or a pinched nerve (which won't).

  4. Id go see a doctor if i was you,

you'll be able to stop stressing and everything :)

  5. Always err on the side of caution, the worst outcome is you'd waste 5 minutes of a doctors time, so go and get yourself sorted out - it sounds like you've done some damage so the sooner you get it looked at the better.  Good luck.

  6. I think you should just wait it out. I mean, if you really feel horrible pain, you should go, but usually, for me anyway, the doctor either says i should get an MRI (oh my GOD, so much $ it's ridiculous) or he tells me i should take some medication or pain relief. Pain medication doesn't help it heal, it only makes the pain lessen. Only go to the doctor if you think you should get pain relief.

  7. I think you should go see a doctor.

  8. hey,

okay this same thing happened to me Thursday, i had this really cute outfit picked out, and so i looked and looked for a pair of shoes that would go really good with it, and i found them, they we're a little to big, but i wore them anyways, when i got home from work, omg, my feet we're hurting, and i was like oh well, then the next day it was even worse, so i called in sick to go to the doctor, and my friend Peyton answered, and she was like don't go to the doctor, if they still hurt tomorrow then go, well i waited til today, and they don't hurt anymore anyways......... sorry about this long story

It might be the same thing, or it might not so wait intil Monday, and if it stills hurts, go ahead.

  9. Follow your gut instinct. If you really think you should see a doctor then you should go. Especially since the pain is still persistent.
