  1. Ok, I looked at both websites.

If it were me, judging from the sites, I think I would go with Kendall . . . but check out the 2 rinks for yourself - go skate a few public sessions.  You just might "feel" you like one more than the other.

Group lessons for both are similar, Kendall is USFSA based, and Pines is ISI based - not too different as you'll learn the basics in both.   It may come down to which fits your schedule the best.

What grabbed me about Kendall is what's on this page:

    http://www.kendallicearena.com/figskate....

They list a mirrored ballet/off ice studio and a full gym (not all rinks have that!).

It just seemed like Kendall had more to offer . . . but that's just based on the website.  The Kendall website was more inviting and had much more info than the Pines site.  But again, go visit the rinks and see for yourself.

When I started skating (as an adult), I had many rinks to choose from as well.  I went to every single rink - to skate and to talk to people.  Ultimately I went with the most structured one (at the time) - the one that I felt would teach me skating "the best way".  It happened to be where my newly made skating friends were already learning from.  It also happened to be the most competitive rink out here (at the time) with the most "known" figure skating club that I guess I wanted to be apart of (at the time).   It was actually the furthest of my choices (a 30+ minute drive), but I think it was well worth it.

Best of luck whichever you choose!

  2. I think kendall arena, it seems nicer

  3. i my mind i would go to Kendall ice arena they look nice there

  4. I go to Kendall Ice Arena and I really like it there. Once you get to know the coaches, they are really nice. My coach even helps me when i'm practicing by myself and gives me a few tips while he's with his other students. There usually isn't a lot of people in the basic skills and that's good because then you get more attention. there are even some days where there is only oen person in the class so you basically get a private lesson for a lot less. I've never been to pines so i wouldn't know what to tell you. The people there are really friendly, just smile back and make small talks. I like the ballet/off ice classes because it has really helped me get more flexible. The ice is usually smooth because they clean it very often (except in public session).
