i went into a Threshers today and i paid by card, the payment went through the pin machine then the sales guy told me he needed to swipe my card too. i was caught off guard so let him, though he couldnt give me a good reason why when i asked him after. he said it was just his machine. but if it WERE his machine my payment wouldnt have gone through already. im a bit suspicious as my card had been used for fraud recently so i thought this was a bit weird. i ended up cancelling my card. was i being paranoid to cancel my card or is this suspicious? i know people can copy cards by swiping them.. :/ im just annoyed at not having a card for another 5-7 working days.. i thought the guy was a bit weird anyway..

would you have cancelled your card in this circumstance? thanks

  1. Would verify that my account was not overcharged. Would also check with that store's manager to see if every thing is Ok with that clerk and with the strore's machines. And more importantly I would try to avoid paying with cards unless absolutely necessary, especially with store cards. These guys charge horrendously high fees.

  2. you were right to cancel your card its better to be inconveiencesd for a for than have someone illegally using your number and to clear that up could take months. Your better off being cautous these days because you never know all the tricks thieves have.
