  1. did the dentist tell you that you should pay?  there is such thing as back job.  on the other hand, if the dentist will ask you to pay, i guess it will make life easier if you just pay and do not go back to that same dentist ever again.  unless, of course if you want to sue the dentist and let this case drag on for ages.  this will take much of your time, money and effort.  and i guess it wil not be worth all the trouble.

if I may suggest, there are modern ways of having tooth filled without the use of amalgam... amalgam filling in our country has long been discontinued for there is a safer and healthful alternative to it.

  2. If in fact, this is the restoration which was placed recently it should be done over as no charge.

  3. Check with your dental insurance policy.

If you paid from your own pocket using a credit card, try appealing to the credit card company to "double the manufacturer's warranty" - it might work :)

  4. Hi, don't think you should either, but may be a blessing, don't use Amalgam fillings, the Mercury can seep into the soft tissue, when the tech assistant is mixing the stuff they have to use surgical masks and when Amalgams are removed they are put into a Toxic disposal bin with Hazardous Materials inside, do you really want that in your daughters mouth?
